In a major push to simplify provident fund access for its 7.5 crore members, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is raising the auto-settlement limit under its advanced claim system fivefold — from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh. The move, aimed at expanding the “Ease of Living” for millions, was approved by Sumita Dawra, Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Employment, during the 113th Executive Committee meeting of the Central Board of Trustees held last week in Srinagar, according to a ANI report.
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is reportedly set to increase the auto claim settlement limit to ₹5 lakh, up from the current threshold. This move aims to enhance efficiency in provident fund (PF) withdrawals, providing quicker access to funds for around 7.5 crore EPFO members.
Key Highlights:
New Auto Claim Limit: ₹5 lakh (previously lower)
Faster Withdrawals: Reducing manual processing delays
Beneficiaries: Around 7.5 crore EPFO subscribers
Impact: Improved liquidity and ease of fund access during financial emergencies
This change is expected to streamline operations and reduce the administrative burden on EPFO while benefiting members who require urgent access to their provident fund savings.
